Pickerel in Owen Sound? Do we have Pickerel in Owen Sound? Of coarse not but what did my son catch behind the YMCA? Matthew Kraemer was fishing for Rainbow trout when he caught a unusual fish. He brought it home and asked me what it was. To my surprise I said "pickerel". We have only heard of one other pickerel being caught in Owen Sound waters. We took it to the MNR for a scale test and found out it was ten years old. He had thought that it swam here with the salmon and that was why it was long and skinny. Back to Photos Main Page
